SeaLife Aquarium Arizona

Sealife arizona

My children love the aquarium. One of the more cost effective ones is Sealife Aquarium in Arizona. It is a great indoor thing to do with kids in Phoenix. It is smaller in size but there is so much to see and hands on activities. I personally thing it is the perfect size for children 12 and under. One of my favorite things is it also has a homeschool week where they offer learning opportunities for homeschoolers.

Attractions

We have visited many times and attended homeschool week and it never ceases to entertain my kidos.

When you first enter you will see the ticket desk. Behind the desk is where you will get a picture taken and then be allowed to enter the aquarium. The aquarium is divided into certain areas.

Interactive TidePool

(Tidepool sealife that the kiddos can touch and learn about)

Bay of Rays

(Sting Rays. You can go up top and look down in the tank or climb behind it)

Walking through you will also see many other attractions including fish, sea horses, a conservation area, sharks, and more..

Homeschool Week

One of the things we love is that Sealife is big on teaching. They teach about conservation and other important sea life topics. Once a year they host a homeschool week. During this week homeschoolers can attend a class and then go through the aquarium. This year (2019) the class was on caring for sick and injured sea turtles. They learned how to find a pulse, mix medicine, and look at xrays.

Sealife Arizona is a great place to take kids in Phoenix. It is educational and fun. I would say it is best suited for younger ones and is the perfect size to entertain them without tiring them out. It is smaller than some other local aquarium but it is filled with exhibits to captivate your kiddos.
