When looking for things to do with kids in Phoenix Arizona one of the first place that pops into mind is the Phoenix Zoo. My family and I love it there. A visit to the Phoenix Zoo will let you see Lions, tigers, giraffes, and more. The Phoenix Zoo is one of the nation’s largest non-profit zoos, committed to conservation. The Phoenix Zoo is about 125 acres and has 2.5 miles of walking path. The walking paths are divided into four different trails – Arizona, Africa, Tropics and Children’s. There are plenty of things to occupy your day. If you want to save money like I do you are allowed to bring coolers and your own food and there are plenty of places to sit and enjoy your food.

Things to Do
The Phoenix Zoo is more than just looking at animals. It has many snack shacks, gift shops, cafes, gardens and picture opportunities. There is Monkey Village, The Tree House, Red barn area with a Petting Zoo, Safari Train, and water play areas that include sprinklers. Another cool thing about the zoo is their Equestrian Center. They have programs for children there to teach them care for horses.
The Animals
The Phoenix Zoo has 4 trails Arizona, Africa, Tropics and Children’s. Each trail highlights what type of animals you will see along the trail. The children’s trail has alot of hands on visual aids to teach the children about the animals and conservation. There is also Stingray Bay, Giraffe Encounter, Camel Rides, and Monkey Village.
There are alot more animals than pictured above but those are some of my kiddos favorites. The Phoenix Zoo offers an entire day of education and fun for the entire family. Be aware that it does get hot in Phoenix. We always try to go early in the day during the summer months. They do have some misting fans that can be refreshing. Are there anythings at the zoo that your family loves.
