If you love dinosaurs or have a dinosaur lover you are not going to want to miss Pangaea Land of Dinosaurs. It is located in Scottsdale right of the 101 and Vio de Ventura Blvd in the Odysea complex. The complex houses Odysea in the Desert, Butterfly Wonderland, Mirror Maze, Polar Play, Dolphinarius, and many shops and restaurants. Also houses the most amazing chocolate store lol but that’s another post. We are not going to discuss the amount of chocolate I ate. Now back to dinosaurs.
Pangaea is located on the bottom floor of the complex. When we first got to Pangaea we were greeted by very friendly staff. You purchase your tickets right at the entrance of the gift shop. We got to meet Jenny one of the managers and she introduced us to the best tour guide Tony and our adventure began. The first stop was a large green screen where they take your picture. It is $10 for a digital copy of 2 pictures they can email or text you or $20 if you want print copies. I went digital so it would be easier to share. The first pic is supposed to just be normal and the second they are supposed to look scared but somehow I don’t think Alijah pulls off scared. The kid has no fear.
Tony took us around and gave us fun facts about the dinosaurs. He has the patience of a saint because my Alijah was in a very talkative mood. He answered every question included but not limited to is this a nice dinosaur or a mean one ( pretty sure the kid asked about 20 times).
Tony even showed us one of the dinos, the Dilophpsaurus that was actually discovered here in AZ!! If you do not want a guided tour you can go at your own pace and each dino exhibit has interactive tablets that will tell you all about your new dino friends.
There was a lot to do for the kiddos and nice comfy benches for the adults. Alijah and Aidan got to participate in everything they have available except for the bounce house which is down due to some technical issues right now. But trust me there is plenty to keep the kiddos entertained.
Ride on Dinosaurs (Stationary)
My boys are a bit wild so this was tame to them since it didn’t walk or anything. I did see younger children who loved it
Ride on Dinosaurs (Moving DinoKarts)
You get to do 2 laps on a Dinokart
Many etches to choose from. We got a skeletauraus and a T-Rex
Alijah opted for a T-Rex on his cheek while Aidan got his first tattoo
Word to the Wise if you have dust allergies steer clear. My sinuses were a mess after but we had so much fun anyway. The kids get to sift thru sand to find a complete mini toy dino skeleton that they can put together and take home or put the pieces in a baggy to assemble at home.
Hammer, wooden chisel, and a rock. It was the thing my boy’s dino excavating dreams are made of lol and once they chiseled thru they discovered a little toy dino that got to go home with them.
Spike the Dancing Dino
Dancing Dinosaur No further words are needed LOL
That was our day at Pangaea Land of Dinosaurs. I would definitely recommend a visit especially if you have kiddos 10 and under. We were given free entry in exchange for an honest review and we paid to do the extras. All pictures are my own and so are the opinions.
