Recently my family and I took a trip up north. We decided to visit Mortimer Farms Strawberry Bash. Mortimer Farms is located in Dewey Arizona just outside of Prescott. Every June they have a Berry Bash that includes some of the yummiest strawberries. In July they have blackberries. We went the first week in July and were able to pick both! But there is so much more to Mortimer Farms than just the berries
Mortimer Farms Fun
Pick Produce: They have a wide selection of vegetables and berries. Make sure to check whats pickin so you know what you will be able to harvest.
Farm Animals: Mortimer Farms has chicken, goats, and a donkey. You can buy food and feed them.
Play areas: There is literally so many play areas. They have swings, slides, barrel rolls, huge tractor tire swings, obstacle courses, and a zipline.
Shopping and Food: Mortimer Farms has a country store that you can buy veggies and fruit. There is also natural body products, honey, salsa, wine, and grassfeed meat for purchase. The best part is the bakery and the grill. Fresh made baked goods are available which included one of the yummiest scones. At the register you can buy a meal from the grill. We had a cheeseburger, pork chop, and sweet corn all made to order.
Strawberry Pancake Poppers
After our fun filled day at Mortimer Farms we enjoyed our strawberries and blackerries. We actually ate about half on the ride home. Eventually about 3 days later I was running out of ideas. I had Googled recipes with strawberries and made everything from a smoothie to ice cream but we still had plenty left. Then my son said lets do breakfast for dinner and have strawberry pancakes. And that’s how we decided on strawberry pancake poppers. The deliciousness of strawberries and pancakes but handheld with easy clean up. These little gems taste delicious, reheat perfectly, and even freeze well. It is a recipe with strawberries that everyone with little kids should save. My boys devoured them.
