The beginning of a relationship is always a rush. You feel overjoyed with love, passion, and excitement about your future together. That first year of being together with someone is often referred to as the honeymoon phase. As you build a deeper relationship the honeymoon will grow into something else. While the honeymoon phase fades away, it doesn’t mean your connection and bond fade. Reality is that your relationship or marriage is going to take some work and it all starts with learning why keeping romance alive is important.
Ups and Downs
It’s important to understand the difference between everyday stress from daily life as an adult and long-term lack of desire or feeling neglected. All long-term relationships and marriages will undergo periods of turmoil, where you feel like the romance is dead and the marriage is slipping away. This is completely normal for all couples trying to last forever and ever. The important thing to do is to be aware of your partner’s feelings and needs. When each of you works to understand that keeping the romance alive is a vital component to everlasting love, you’ll soon find that the stressful moments between the two of you are nothing compared to the deeper bond you have worked to maintain.
Why Romance Is Important
Romance is an important part of two human beings to feel connected. The passion, the intimacy and the desire to be affectionate towards each other helps reconnect the physical bond. When you put romance as a high priority you’ll soon find that the marriage can withstand the darkest of storms. Being intimate with each other doesn’t have to take maximum effort nor a lot of time. There are many ways you can be certain to keep the romance alive, but I’ll address that on another day.
Small actions that convey your desire for your partner helps him or her to see that they matter still. Each of us has this innate need to feel wanted. It’s not enough to know that we’re needed. Romance helps remind a couple that there is still that desire to want each other. It’s easy to mistakenly think that your partner is merely staying together for the ease of contentment. In most relationships and marriages you are both united together for a deeper reason. Keeping the romance alive will help ignite that reminder that you both want each other and aren’t there for some easy way of living.
There is no one answer to how to keep the romance alive within your marriage, but the overall agreement with long-lasting relationships and marriages is that this area in your relationships is a vital component to everlasting love.
