My husband and I have been married for 14 years. Before children, we made it a point to have a weekly date night. I lived for date night. I would get all prettied up and we would head out. After having children it became a lot more difficult since we are both extremely picky about who watches our children. Keeping the romance alive is vital in a marriage so we decided to improvise. We began having date nights at home.
But How??
How do you have a date night at home with 4 children? Well, it was difficult at first but eventually, we got into the swing of things. One thing is I prep for it. Friday nights we have a family night which usually is pizza and movies or some variation. Sat I will make sure the kiddos have their dinner by 5 no later and then let them hang out until about 7:30 which is our 4 yr olds bedtime. Once he is down our 3 older kiddos are free to watch tv in their rooms. If he doesn’t want to go to bed I will have my 10 yr old “babysit” him. This is basically he hangs in his brother’s room and has snacks and Bro time. The hubby and I then have our kid-free time.

These are some of the things the hubby and I do at home to keep the romance alive. Hopefully, you find something that sparks you and your significant others interest. As a disclaimer, I do take part in the Amazon Affiliate program. I have listed items that the hubby and I own and use and you can purchase for yourself through Amazon. I do get a small amount from Amazon if you decide to buy but this is at no cost to you. Also, I would never promote anything that I myself have not tried or own.

I love the couple bucket list, and I think I am going to convince my boyfriend to do one with me!
Also expanding on your fondue + wine, and sharing a glass of wine ideas – putting together a meat + cheese board to pair with your wine is also really fun and tasty!

I will have to add that to my list. Sounds yummy. Plus we have done that so dont know why I didn’t think of it. Thanks for the idea!! ❤️❤️❤️
I have a small fire pit in my backyard, and it makes the person “stay in” date night. Light up the fire, make some s’mores and enjoy the company 🙂
