Summer Bucket List: Adult Edition

Summer is finally in full swing and you may feel like there is not enough time to do everything you want to. If you have kids, maybe you have so many things planned for them that you forget about yourself! It is okay to take some summer days to focus on your summer bucket list because let’s be honest, it may be a tad different than your kids’ list! To get you excited, here is a starter adult bucket list.

For the Sunny Days

Create a beautiful garden

This may not be the most exciting way to spend a summer day but at the end of it, you will have created a great landscape for your home that you can enjoy for the rest of the summer! The project can be as small as planting some flowers or as big as re-doing the entire front and backyard. You can get some great gardening inspiration from HGTV.

Have a picnic with your family

While you want your bucket list to be about you and your goals for the summer, one of your objectives might be to spend a little time with your family too! Plan a picnic with your spouse and children on a nice summer day. It will be a great bonding moment for your family and will give them different scenery than the regular kitchen table.

Outdoor Adventures

Summer Bucket List: Adult Edition

Lake

If you live near the water, there will be plenty of boat rentals that you and your adult friends can enjoy! Did I hear someone say boat party? If you don’t live near water, there are plenty of outdoor adventures that you can go on, whether that is visiting a State/National Park and hiking or renting a dune buggy for a great ride! The most important thing is to get outdoors and do something adventurous.

Host a BBQ

Now that you have an amazing garden, it is time to show it off and host a BBQ! It will be great to reconnect with friends and be able to hangout at your own home. When you start planning, you can make it as easy as the traditional style BBQ of hot dogs and hamburgers or you can go all out and have a fancy BBQ.

Attend an outdoor concert

Plenty of towns host outdoor concerts in the summer so why not put yourself out there and attend one? Many are free or have a small fee, and it can make for an easy night out! You may be able to even grab a bite to eat at a great restaurant that has a beautiful patio!

For the Rainy Days

Adult Game Night

Get all of your game-loving friends together and host a game night. You don’t have to have the typical family-friendly game night like you would with your kids’ games like Candyland or Chutes and Ladders. Buy some games that your adult friends will like such as Cards Against Humanity or What Do You Meme?

Re-Decorate House

If you plan on tackling this task, it can be as easy as rearranging furniture or completely re-decorating a room. Whatever it may be, it will be a great way to spend your rainy day! You can get a lot of inspiration from Pinterest and save all of your favorites to reference later at the store. Depending what room you pick it may be a multiple day task, but it will look amazing one you have finished.

Get Finances Together

Finances can be a tough task that you may want to avoid, but you can get your budget in order in no time! Getting your finances together may mean scheduling bills for the upcoming months or looking into what you can change in your daily expenses. The best thing about your finances is depending on what they are you can lower the monthly payment which means saving money for more summer activities! This can be looking back on those stinky student loans and refinancing them, consolidating your credit card debt, or even as simple as cutting out cable. Look into your options that will allow your bank account to breathe a little bit easier.

Binge Watch Shows

We all have our guilty pleasure show that is our favorite to watch over and over again when we feel like being a little bit lazy. Use a rainy day to binge watch your favorite show! If you don’t have a favorite show, you could also binge watch your favorite movie series. Anybody up for a Star Wars marathon?

Wine Night

Another great way to host your friends is to have a wine night. You can make it BYOB or even a potluck so you aren’t stuck preparing all of the food. It is great way to relax from the day and catch up with friends.
