Arizona Renaissance Festival has arrived again this year. This marks the 30th annual appearance of the Festival here in Arizona. The Festival is located at12601 E. US Highway 60 Gold Canyon AZ 85118 and is open on weekends from Feb 10-April 1 from 10am-6pm. The Arizona Renaissance Festival is a medieval amusement park, a 13-stage theater, a 30-acre circus, fantastic food, a circus, and artisan shops all rolled into one for an all-day family adventure. Today my family got to visit the festival and we got all dressed up to go enjoy our day. We even got pictures taken beforehand at Desert Petals Photography here in Surprise Arizona. We go all out for the festival.
Once we were all dressed up we headed out to the festival. Here’s all the entertainment we were able to enjoy.
Shows are at 1, 2:30, and 5 pm. Humor and action all rolled into one. Real life jousting and merriment meant to excite and entertain. After each show, they sell the shields or lances and the knights will autograph them and pose for pictures. This was by far my 10 yr olds favorite event
As you walk around you will come across various acts and entertainment. There are stages placed in various places and then entertainers also walking around. My sons loved meeting the performers.
Artisans as far as you can walk. It is so much fun just browsing but then you find the perfect item that you have to buy. So far between last year and this year, we have come home with wooden swords, a horn, a drum, flute, various knick-knacks and my absolute favorite my copper roses.
Alijahs favorite part is the mermaids. He is a sucker for a pretty girl and so loves seeing the mermaids. If you have a mermaid lover make sure to stop here and see this attraction.
Not to admit how much I love food but well I do so of course one of my favorite spots are the various food vendors. The turkey legs are a must and the corn on a stick yum! There is lots to choose from so bring your wallet and an empty belly.
In addition to what I have mentioned, there is a lot more fun to be had. There is a petting zoo and other attractions that can be seen. Most are free but there are a few that charge. For example, there is a medieval torture exhibit and it is 2$ per person to get in. There are also various rides that you can enjoy for a fee usually between 2$-3$. The festival is a great place to visit and fun for all ages. If you have the chance make sure to swing by and have a visit.
